Grand premiere of "RedDrop" and "Peceidas" at Sala Phenomena
The LCI Barcelona Final Project Week 2024 officially began at the Sala Phenomena Experience with the premiere of the final degree projects by our students of Video Game Design and Animation.
First, Georgina Castellà, Laura Celebrovsky, Oleguer Soldevila, Nerea Alarcón, Josep Lluis Pérez, Álex Castro, Daniel García, and Alex Bellet presented "RedDrop", a frenetic rhythm game with pixel art style where you must fight alongside Ren to rescue his sister Aiko. The video game was evaluated by three industry professionals: Alexis Sans (eDojo), Jordi Garcia (Mango Protocol), and Andreu Sierro.
In the second part of the event, Izhan Alcántara, Frank Armengol, Daniel Ferrer, Adrián Guerra, Emiliano Inzunza, Veronika Konstantinova, Melania López, María Pérez, Andrea Queral, Carmen Carolina Torres, and Alex Zhang presented their short film "Peceidas". In this fantasy and coming-of-age story that combines traditional 2D animation and cutout, Lole and her grandmother Chacha embark on a great adventure where they discover the true power of magic and strengthen their relationship. The jury composed of Lluis Viciana (Scared Ghost Animation Studios), Carlos Smith (HIERRO Animación and Universidad LCI Veritas), and Pablo Soto (Mago Production) provided feedback on the film.
The premiere was attended by a representation from DJP Music School, with whom our students collaborated on the music and sound design for both projects. We were joined by the head of studies Felipe A. Bayona and students Laura Tascón, Juan Fuentes, and Kristina de la Luna López on behalf of their classmates of the Higher National Diploma in Music Production.
All the guests (family, friends, faculty, staff, etc.), some of whom passed through the event's photocall, were delighted with the quality of the projects and congratulated those responsible for the great work done. Congratulations to our students and the teaching team led by David Carretero!
